A message for Jacques

Carver and I both attend Auckland University where we (mainly him) have been charged with putting together a T20 cricket team for our faculty, to compete in the inter-faculty champs beginning this week.

However, after going through our team list, we realised that we had too many aggressive/unstable batsmen and not enough 'nurdling anchor' types - typically to come in at 3. Given Jacques Kallis' recent IPL form, including his latest innings against Punjab, we thought of him first.

We promptly sent an email to his foundation, hoping that the the message would make its way back to Jacques. But after it became clear from their responses that this was not going to be the case, I decided to post our message on here, hoping that someone close to Jacques, or perhaps the man himself will read it and make it in time for the first game.

To whom it may concern,

We need a solid player to carry his bat and guide the side to decent totals in our local 20/20 competition, batting at number 3.

Couldn't help but think of Jacques Kallis. I know he is a little old, but we all agree that he would be a good fit for the side.

Game is on Thursday at 3pm at the domain.

Heard Jacques travels well so this should be no issue for him, however if he turns up with the wrong attitude he won't be playing.

In fact he probably should get here on Wednesday so he can attend training and we can decide whether or not to start with him

Cheers,

T. Carver and A. Fernando

  1. I love how you expect him to know what and where the 'domain' is.
